How we make the combs and the drums?
The two crucial parts that produce sounds are the combs and the drums. And we have the most cutting-edge technology in the industry that is needed to make both parts.
The comb takes 8 different processing procedures to make and we don’t cut corners in any of them.
1. Raw material stamping.
2. Rough milling the surface.
3. Heat-treating.
4. Grinding the sides.
5. Grinding the corner to make the chamfer.
6. Slice cutting to make the comb.
7. Rough grinding the surface to achieve rough frequency on the comb.
8. The last step is electrical discharging the surface to achieve the desired frequency.
We have been working consistently to improve our ability to provide quality products to our clients.
The drum is a piece of sheet metal with spikes on the surface that is circular in shape. Think of it as a pianist who does the playing whereas the comb is the piano. The only difference is that the drum has the rhythm baked into itself so it makes no mistakes. We are very meticulous with the manufacture of our drums as we hold high standard over its geometric shape and have many tight tolerances. The tolerance for the roundness is 0.05mm(about 2 thou) and each spike we ask for the height tolerance of 0.05mm(about 2 thou). This way when the drum rotates concentrically, when the spikes hit the comb, there will be much less fluctuation on the sound it produces.
By embracing automation, we are able to produce quality products massively and shorten the production time. Our team of automation experts have designed a number of automation equipment to better serve our clients.
